Computer Assisted Design (CAD) students had an opportunity to experience the true life of an engineer. Mr. Tom Sterling,
President of West Gate, gave Congress Middle School students a personal tour of the facility showcasing their manufacturing
processes and equipment used in product development.
The students received knowledge of some of the latest advancements in manufacturing technology including plasma cutters,
waterjets, and robotic welders/press brakes which have the capability of creating a diverse range of products. At the end
of the tour, each student was given a souvenir engineered and fabricated by the company’s staff. The students
and professors at Congress Middle School were very appreciative of the time spent with leading industry representatives.
At West Gate, giving back to our community is one of things that we do best! “West Gate is more than happy to share
our expertise in assisting with the development of our publics young future engineers,” stated Tom.
